Pit Boss pellet grills are expensive. Not only do you have the big-ticket item purchase, but you also have to buy wood pellets and other accessories. You’ll likely end up spending more on your new smoker than you would on your typical gas and charcoal grill. Therefore, I thought I would summarize the coverage, terms, and duration of the Pit Boss pellet grill.
What Is The Warranty on a Pit Boss Pellet Grill?
All Pit Boss pellet grills and smokers are covered under a limited five-year warranty from the date of sale. There is a five-year warranty against defects and workmanship on all parts and all electrical components. It doesn’t cover any damage from normal wear and tears such as; dings, chips, scratches, etc.
The Pit Boss 5-year warranty went into effect on 9/3/2018.
Anyone who purchased their grill before this year will fall under their old warranty of a one-year limited warranty.

It is a written promise from Dansons, the manufacturer of Pit Boss wood pellet grills, to repair, replace, certain types of defects, specified parts, or other conditions.

Well, below I’ve summarized which parts of the grill are covered and what’s not.

- Withstands temperatures up to 1200° F intermittently; 600° F continuously
- Dries tack-free in 15minutes or less
- Protects against rust
- Not for use on cooking surfaces

Their support system will attempt to resolve the issues. If they are unable to or find that you have a defective grill, they will send you a replacement part.
The warranty only covers replacement for defective parts, not labor costs, or consequential or incidental damages.
It could take several days or weeks to receive the replacement part. If your grill is under warranty and they are sending you a replacement part, you likely won’t have to pay for shipping.
When they sent me my replacement screw package, I didn’t have to pay for shipping. That said, it took over two weeks to receive the part.
Many people on online forums have stated that instead of waiting for the replacement part and not being able to use your grill, you may want to order it on your own.

Pit Boss Warranty Exceptions
Pit Boss will void the warranty if the unit is misused, improper handling, and any modifications are made.
They recommend you use Pit Boss pellets or other high-quality pellets. Using the wrong fuel or cheap pellets can void the contract.
The limitations of the warranty will vary from state to state, so be sure to check with Pit Boss to see what your state entails.
Does Pit Boss Have The Best Warranty?

According to the manual, Pit Boss has taken every safeguard to prevent rust. However, rust occurs from various factors out of their control, therefore, the warranty does not protect grills affected from rust or oxidation.
The only exception would be if there is a loss of structural integrity of the grill component.
